Dr. Shancy Jacob

Dr. Shancy Jacob has extensive expertise as a nephrologist for over a decade.  Dr. Jacob served as an Assistant Professor  in the Department of Nephrology at  University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) teaching medical trainees for over 10 years before starting her own medical practice.

 

She is well versed in the latest treatments for kidney disease.   Dr. Jacob specializes in general nephrology and her passion is to prevent progression of kidney disease and empower her patients with the knowledge needed for their well-being. 

 

​Dr. Jacob completed her medical training at Oklahoma State University in 2009 and was chosen to advance her studies in Internal Medicine and Nephrology at the same institution.  She finished internal medicine residency and then nephrology fellowship in 2014.  After she finished her training, she returned to her roots in Texas and began her professional journey at UTMB, where she provided exceptional patient care and taught medical doctors.  At UTMB, she was the Medical Director of the inpatient dialysis unit and also served as the Associate Division Chief prior to her leaving.  Dr. Jacob was also honored as the Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology in recognition of her excellence in practice and research.  ​
